Hammond National Night Out
Once again Edison Community Watch joined by the East Hammond/Pullman Crime Watch and the Whiting/Robertsdale Crime Watch will host the Hammond National Night Out event on August 2, 2011 from 5:30-8PM.
National Night Out is designed to (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness (2) Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
This year we chose the Civic Center for our location as it will accommodate the event rain or shine.
We will offer a FREE Hot Dog, Chips & Pop for a canned good donation that will be given to another local charity, Haven House.
We are in the process of firming up plans for the following for the children:
- The Lake County Helicopter
- Face Painting
- Sidewalk chalk drawing contest
- Door Prizes
As this is a Hammond event, everyone in Hammond is invited.
Anyone wishing to volunteer for a committee, we welcome your help. Please send me an email and I'll keep you abreast of our plans and meetings.
